  I have been going here for several years and have never had a problem with anyone at DeRoma's until tonight. The receptionist was very rude and quick and I felt like walking out but I did not want to a scene. I waited and finished my dinner and called for the manager on duty to explain what happened. He was not very helpful and I got no satisfaction from him as well. Instead of just saying " I am sorry" he was making excuses for a lousy receptionist. Some people did not show up, its cold out and no one wants to sit outside. Well I have to tell you its not my problem and there is no excuse for an attitude when someone arrives. I was with two people that had never been there before and because of this situation will never come back.

  We have enjoyed DeRomo's Market and Deli for several years now, since its opening. We had heard good things about the restaurant and decided to give it a try this year. It was 3:45 in the afternoon, and after shopping leisurely in The Promenade we stopped at the hostess stand and asked for a table for two. "Do you have a reservation?" was the response from the unfriendly woman who was apparently looking at a list. No, it's 3:45 and almost all the tables are empty. (At this point, if only she had explained that the place was booked with reservations, we would have understood). Instead, another unfriendly, younger woman led us one way, then changed her mind and switched directions, and we were given a table outside, in a very sunny area. I asked if there were possibly something in the other outside area, where it was more shaded. She begrudgingly and silently took us back to the hostess stand where there was another conference, and then she led us outside and left us standing while she took menus to another table. Then she took us to another table, inside, which was near the kitchen, and here is where I am starting to see similarities with other reviews. We ARE older, and yet we were still treated very rudely, not that that should matter! We sat down, a waiter came to take our drink order, and the unfriendly younger hostess reappeared and INTERRUPTED the waiter in mid-sentence. We got up and left. First impressions leave lasting impressions, and we will not be back.
